Das Sammeln von D&P Höhenrechenschiebern

A very special item for slide rule collectors is the “Position Line Slide Rule” with the German name “Höhenrechenschieber”. This article deals with some practical aspects of collecting these items.
Restricted to the German devices produced by Dennert & Pape during WWII using the codename GWR and later on with the brand name Dennert & Pape,  three models HR1, HR2 and MHR1 were found.

German slide rules in Russia and the Soviet Union

At the end of the 19th century the slide rule market of Russia was dominated by French Tavernier-Gravet slide rules. For instance the slide rule instructions of C. A. Shostak (Logarifmicheskaya lineika – Règle à calculs, Odessa, 1885), A. P. Morzhov (Obshchedostupnoe rukovodstvo k schetnoj lineike c prilozheniem chertezha lineiki, Vyatka now called Kirov, 1898), Yu. G. Elenkovskii (Schetnaja lineika. Rukovodstvo eya upotrebleniyu dlya inzhenerov, tekhnikov, torgovtsev, zavodchikov, podrjadchikov, bankirov, schetovodov i t.d., 1900) and M. A. Netyksa (Schetnaja lineika, 1904 & 1914) used Tavernier-Gravet slide rules of Mannheim type as examples.
